We are the community special school for secondary aged students with severe learning difficulties in the borough of Lewisham. We are committed to providing the very best education for our students and in doing so we offer a dedicated and highly specialised team of staff to support and meet every individual student’s learning needs. All students joining Greenvale have an EHCP.
We are based on two sites in different parts of the borough, Waters Road, Catford and Mayow Road, Forest Hill. We provide our students with a bespoke learning environment and have some amazing facilities, including; a hydrotherapy pool, a rebound therapy room, specialist teaching rooms for art, drama, music and computing and a range of outdoor areas designed to meet students sensory needs.
Our aim is to offer and deliver a personalised curriculum to our students, which prepares them well for life beyond Greenvale, while creating fantastic fun memories of their school days. Our curriculum is designed into four different learning pathways which are embedded across the school.
There is a range of expertise throughout the school, from our highly skilled and experienced class team of teachers and learning support assistants to a range of specialist teams and individuals, including our learning mentors and family liaison officer. Through the graded response students have access to a range of therapists, including speech and language, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and school nursing. Together, we ensure every young person’s needs are met.
