Key Stage Coordinators
Each Key Stage has a Coordinator who oversees education and the pastoral support of students in that Key Stage. They liaise with all the class teachers and ensure the smooth running of students in those classes. Key Stage coordinators also teach and monitor both teaching and learning. They also chair Annual Review Meetings/Educational Health Care Plan Reviews. They can be contacted if you have a concern about your son / daughter.
Middle Leaders
We have a team of strong middle leaders within the school. They are experts in areas of teaching such as communication, equality diversity and inclusion and ensure that the whole teaching and support staff team are highly skilled in these areas. We also have 2 lead teachers with additional Teaching and Learning Responsibilities who each run a base for specific groups of students. Victoria has responsibility for the Learning Support Base (LSB) which supports students on the Grove and Orchard Pathways with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. Caroline has responsibility for the Interventions Base (iBase) which supports students on the Forest and Woodland Pathways with interventions for example in phonics, communication, or social and emotional development and includes initiatives such as The Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Class Teachers
We have an experienced and enthusiastic team of class teachers at Greenvale School. They will be the first point of contact in relation to day to day enquiries and questions surrounding the education of the young people in their classes. Many teachers have additional responsibilities such as coordinating a subject or area of development within the school.
Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAS)
We have a team of HLTAs working on each site. They hold the HLTA qualification and are highly skilled practitioners able to lead groups, interventions and provide support for teachers.
Learning Support Assistants (LSAs)
LSA’s support learning within a particular class and Key Stage. They are highly skilled at supporting learning and work under the direction of the class teacher or HLTA.
Meals Supervisors
Our meals supervisors are employed at lunch time only to support classes with personal care and to assist students who require support to eat their lunch. They are allocated to a particular class or shared between two classes. They also supervise leisure activities during the break.
Learning Mentors
Each of the Key Stages and the Glade Provision has a Learning Mentor. Learning Mentors are not based in a class but play a very active role in supporting the students within their Key Stage. They support students if they are in crisis either due to a medical condition or feeling dysregulated. They also support students requiring more pastoral support and to carryout student voice activities such as Feedback forms for their Annual Reviews/ Educational Health Care Plan Reviews. The Learning Mentors also write, review and update behaviour support plans.
Administrative Staff

They have many duties and responsibilities (managed by our School Business Leader Susan Meacock).
